No, definitely not. Although the processor architecture in the PowerPC processors was more advanced than that of Intel chips (it was able to complete more computations in less cycles, and tried to use simple commands as opposed to complex ones--this is why a PowerPC processor that might have a full 1 GHz less in terms of clock speed than an Intel chip might be able to out-perform the Intel chip.), it was still more expensive to manufacture and put Macs out of a lot of people's budgets. Also, people just didn't get that clock speed was not the primary factor in determining how well a computer performed, but one of many.
Now that Macs are using Intel Core 2 Duo processors (which are much more efficient than PowerPC processors, as well as cheaper), it is easier for consumers to directly compare Macs with other PC brands such as Dell and HP. This clears up a lot of confusion that was previously keeping PC users from checking out what Macs had to offer.
In addition, using the Intel chips in their computers allowed Apple to run Windows and Linux on their computers (either through Parallels (or some other virtual machine) or Boot Camp), giving them an advantage over other PC manufacturers in that Macs are the only computers that can run OS X in addition to all the other operating systems.

No - PowerPC is old technology now - Intel is surely the best processor manufacturer currently - also new processors allow better multi-core support than any other, which is the future technology.
Photoshop CS3 on my intel is running ten times faster than on my old PowerPC running CS2.

That icon is actual telling you that it could no longer come across the device Folder. This does now no longer recommend that there is not any device Folder, maximum effective that it could no longer come across it. carry the alternative key for the size of boot to force the iBook to seek for. it is going to tutor people who it shows. merely click on it to start up using that folder. If ti shows none, then you maximum effective determination is to get an OS CD. i do no longer recommend OS X on a G3. you will could desire to locate a reproduction of OS 9.
