Inside my computer, there is one very short and brown slot, and about four longer, almost white(grey?) slots on my motherboard.I'm assuming the light colored ones are PCI,but what is the brown one?

Yes, that is the AGP slot.
AGP stands for Accelerated Graphics Port, and is for higher-end graphics cards that can handle complex objects and 3D capabilites that are found in today's games and video editing packages.

AGP?
The motherboard/PC manual should indicate what expansion slots you have.
If you don't have a manual try looking up the model number online.
