i am transferring two hard drives with two different OS to two different motherboards. The first hard drive is currently Windows XP installed and the other one has Windows 7. I am trying to transfer the HD with Windows 7 to the other motherboard which has the Windows XP HD and and the Windows XP HD will be transferred to the other motherboard. I know its really confusing and this also gives me a headache. :) Can anyone tell me if its possible?

Yes, its possible.

You just need to install the drivers of the respective motherboards, thats all.

There are chip sets on mother boards that require drivers to be installed on the HDD. There can be a mismatch of the drivers while you are transferring HDDs. Take care of that. Apart from that the BIOS should be enabled for the new HDDs. Put on auto detection. Take care of drivers for peripherals also.

dosent matter what board or which HDD... ur gonna need drivers for the board with XP OS, and probably none for the one wid Win 7 (its got pretty much all drivers covered)

just plug em correctly, feed the right dirvers and you'll be good to go!

you are able to swap the demanding drives AND the documents will be intact even if the structures gained't boot wisely because the CPU's will be diverse the GUID will be diverse etc. To cause them to run you are able to could re-set up the OS with the hardware in position.
