So my head is hurting so much because i can't seem to fix this. My computer keeps freezing up...bad! To the point that i am on a different computer seeking for help. So my computer will turn on, let me log into my user account and then take a long time to load up anything...however, as soon as i move the mouse it will freeze up and stay like that for another long while and then shut down on its own. Even if i leave the mouse alone it will eventually freeze up and shut down. I turned on the computer on safe mode and everything seems to work fine there so i know there is a program that is keeping it from responding and working properly. But like i said, it freezes so bad that so quickly that i can't even check to see what is the problems with it. Any help would be great! Please help me!!!!

1) Although what you said indicates the problem might be with the software, the first thing Id do is to open up ur pc, remove all the ram modules, clean the contacs with a damp ear bud and give the seats a good blow to romove any dust. Dont forget to make sure the contacts are dry before re seating them on the motherboard.

The reason id do this first is coz it takes litterally two minutes to do, itll be a btch spending hours tryina fix the problem then finding out you could have done it in two minutes.

I had this problem when I upgraded my ram last year and cleaning it in this way sorted me out.

- Now that you kno the ram's ok, its time to start on the long *** solutions that require you to have more patience than Gandhi in a german work camp.

2) Next try work on your software.

Go to safe mode and access msconfig by typing it to your run command. Get rid of everything by clicking on diagnostic startup and restart.

If you computer work perfectly, then slowly introduce more startup programs and services - one by 1 if you have to. Note the ones that make your computer crash and keep them off. This will mean you restartin your computer constantly.

If it goes well, then ull have a list of all the culprates, if it goes perfect, ull have one main culprate - if it went **** then go to 3.

3)This is simple and str8 foward - back all the files you wanna keep, reformat your drive and reinstal ur operating system. Dont take a shortcut when reformating your drive - do it properly.

4) If all of the above failed, the you got a problem with your cpu. Over heating tends to damage the transistors in your cpu - the most obvious sign is if your pc usually gets a blue screen then restarts. If ur cpu is fcked too bad.

Think of your cpu like ud think of a loyal girlfriend, if it gets fcked, then ur gettin fcked. Take better care of ur hardware.

There may be several reasons why your computer may be freezing. First question is when was the last time you cleaned your registry. Having a corrupted registry can cause a whole host of errors and problems. Freezing up is one of them. If you have a lot of unnecessary registry keys that are hogging up your computer resources. Your computer is bound to choke. Scan your registry with a good registry cleaner. If you pull up more than 20 errors or duplication, clean your registry.

2. Depending on your RAM specs and your computer usage. This could also be a the issue. Having an insufficient amount of free space does not allow your RAM to function properly. If you are using a lot of RAM by net surfing or other activities without enough empty space your will get freezes. You don't need to buy new RAM but you should increase your free space by removing unnecessary data and perhaps increasing your virtual memory. The below link will show you how.

3. Spyware could be the culprit, so do a scan and see if your computer is infected.

4. Another area is a hardware drivers. This could be the problem if new hardware has been added to the system. So, the drivers should still be up to date. So try the first two suggestion and see if you can get your computer to stop freezing.

Check your drivers.

5. Lastly, check the dust buildup on the fan to make sure you system is cooling properly

check for the memory:

When you add data to your computer, it is stored on your hard drive. Over time, however, data files get moved around and are often spread out from each other, making the program operate more slowly as it has to piece these files back together. Defragmenting cleans up the hard drive and rearranges the files.

Scan for spyware and viruses

Another reason why your computer could be freezing up, especially if it is a new phenomenon, is because of a virus or some type of spyware. These programs can suck up your RAM, alter your registry, or cause other problems your system just cannot deal with.

There could be a dozen or more things that can cause your problem from a hardware problem to a Virus or Malware. It could also just be a corrupt operating system.

If you're able the best bet would be to back up everything you want to keep like Pics, Music, favourites etc. and reformat your hard drive and install Windows fresh.

After analyzing all those different solutions, it handed off to me that the difficulty might even have not have been given something to do with the OS, viruses, or any of that different nonsense. in basic terms placed, it might desire to be a difficulty comparable to what I had some time in the past. i replaced into experiencing the comparable hassles, the only ingredient i might desire to do replaced into to close it down and attempt back later Lo and behold, i desperate to get a miles better no longer easypersistent sooner or later, I put in it and the difficulty disappeared. WHY? It seems that the difficulty replaced into that the HDD replaced into at fault. A techie advised me after finding out it, that a capacitor (a thingie that holds a cost for a definite length of time) interior the HDD replaced into no longer functioning and for this reason it replaced into overheating and closing itself down. answer: Get yet another HDD, deploy the OS, deploy all your backups and/or reinstall any classes or video games you want. distinctive artwork, yet nonetheless, a comp. is in basic terms extremely hardware, it could and does wreck down with the aid of no fault of your individual. ;-)

Reinstall windows immediately, and by the sound of things don't use Vista your computer won't run it it's suicide! Unless your sure it can handle it.
