Well I "had" Win8 developer preview and I would get "CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT" blue screen error whenever I tried to play Portal 2. Now I have Win7 Pro x64 and I still get the error when I try to play Portal 2. So do I need to RMA FX-6100 or my Gigabyte 990FXA-UD3 motherboard OR is there a hot fix for portal 2 that will fix this error? If I have to RMA how long do you think it would take from Tiger Direct?

The following actions might prevent an error like this from happening again:

Download and install updates from Windows Update.

Download and install the latest driver for your graphics card and upgrade the BIOS is possible.

Scan your computer for computer viruses.

Check your hard disk for errors.

Well it's most certainly your CPu and an RMA can be about a month if that processor is that buggy. Some companies will cross-ship which can reduce downtime to 5 days or less.

http://scalibq.wordpress.com/2011/10/19/amd-bulldozer-can-it-get-even-worse/ is another reason I am glad I waited for a long time after the 2500K's release before I purchased it. The bulldozer line should really be bulldozed. Look at us wooohooo. we have an EIGHT core that um uh can be whooped senseless by a quad core. http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/287?vs=434 . I mean I was watching this APU for a while and when it was released and reviews and benches started to trickle out I was seriously confused by this line. The thought WTF were they thinking crossed my mind. 4100, 3850, 8150 whatever. I wouldn't even come close. Why oh why do I want to game with an 8 core APU that is well over $200 when I can just buy a 980BE? http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/287?vs=434 . I am loving this 980BE. Whe the next line comes out I am going to upgrade. It's released and umm what is my motivation to upgrade if I am a gamer.

the intel is extremely extra useful, yet concidering the cost diferance and the reality that the i5 is 15% quicker for a 50% value boost means i might definately recomend the AMD any am+ motherboard might suffice, in spite of the incontrovertible fact that seek for fetures on the motherboard, i might make useful the board you chosen has USB3 and SATA 6GBs, instruments making use of them often is the norm in yet another 12 months so would besides get them now, additionally ensure you have different expanson ports

Errr...

To have FX support on that motherboard you need to update your bios.

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3894#bios

Then choose BIOS from the one all the way down, Rev 1.2, that's the newest one.

Not sure about your Portal 2 problem.
