Nvidia is the name of the company, which manufactures motherboards named nForce and graphics card named GeForce. They are 2 different pieces of hardware.

SLI - (Scalable Link Interface) A multi-GPU interface from NVIDIA for connecting two or four NVIDIA display adapters together for faster graphics rendering on one monitor or two monitors. SLI machines require adjacent PCI Express slots, NVIDIA's Media and Communications Processor (MCP) on the motherboard and identical SLI-certified NVIDIA display adapters. Such adapters come with an SLI connector that connects one card with the other.

Intel Core Two Duo, NVIDIA HD GPU, DDR3 RAM, MSi / ASUS Mobo... that's what I'd go with.

nForce is Nvidia's line of motherboards, GeForce is their line of graphics cards

SLI refers to a technology on some motherboards that allow for up to 2-4 video cards instead of one to be attached. It's for the hard core gamer.

For a decent PC I'd recommend an Intel quad core processor or higher, at least a GeForce 8800 graphics card or higher, 3-4 GB of RAM, and at least a 500 GB hard drive.

That will get you a decent computer without you having to spend a fortune.

nForce is the nVidia series of motherboard chipsets

GeForce is the nVidia series of graphics processors

SLi is the technology allowing multiple identical GeForce cards to work together for increased performance on nForce (and certain Intel) motherboards.

This is a horrible place to ask for that kind of advice.

But to be blunt, nForce is the chipset, Geforece is the Graphics card and SLi is what you get when you use an nForce chipset to combine two (or more) Geforce cards together.

The Nforce 590 is the lastest of the Nforce 5 kin (or between the maximum recent, I nonetheless ought to be old!). The Nforce 5 got here after Nforce 4, yet they only extra few exciting good factors. Its as much as you to work out if its good to apply up extra funds and get the 5th technology of the nforce chipset extremely of the 4th. i'm actual sticking with my good previous Nforce 3 mobo with my Athlon sixty 4 (I do song and audio edit as activity, yet I additionally paintings in video modifying, severe activity). The Nforce 3 does not activity SLI or maybe one single pci exhibit, or different fancy good factors that got here after it, while the Nforce 4 strengthen into released and the nforce 5 after it. yet whats up, the nforce 3 its an nforce, and that all of them have been particularly great in overall performance.
