So, last week my computer randomly shut down and kept restarting after I opened it. I thought it had been attacked by a virus so I reinstalled windows XP operating system. It all worked out fine for a day but now I get a blue message saying that a error has been detected and windows has shut down to protect my files or something. It doesn't letme use my computer at all and when I go to the setup its says nvrd32. sys could not be found. Is my computer broken forvever? Or should I reinstall windows again????

Could be over temperature causing the repeated restarts. I presume it is a laptop, because you say you "open" it.

Can you feel or hear the fan blowing? Are the vents blocked?

No, it's not broken.

Try doing a disk check right after you install windows, it could be a bad sector on the hard disk, but the thing that you really must check is your ram memory because computers don't supposed to shut down or restart according to their mood!

The same thing happened to me, and it turned out that my ram memory is faulty and i replaced it and the problem was gone.

Good luck.

The windows cd you are using does not contain the nvidia sata raid driver (nvrd32.sys).

The forum below offers a solution to this issue.

you dont need the RAID drivers anyways.
