I have a Desktop PC with Intel D845EPI/D845GVSR Board and Celeron 2.8 GHz processor. The computer was working fine until I installed a Bios update from the Intel website.
Now while starting my computer I'm getting an error message "This intel (R) desktop board is designed to support a maximum processor speed of 2.60 Ghz. A processor faster than 2.60 Ghz has been detected.... or reduce product life.
The system will be powered down in 10 Seconds"
What do I do now. I tried removing my CMOS Battery and reset the jumper settings in the Motherboard. Still shows the same error message.
Please help n Thanks in advance.

If you absolutely can't do it through the BIOS menu and you've tried everything else, take it to a computer shop. If there's nothing anyone can do you'll need to flash it, which means you could lose everything. Like possibly even your OS. are you sure you can't get to the BIOS menu while you boot up? Like I said, try everything, you can think of. Getting into the BIOS would be the best way, but if you or pros can't do that, the next step is to get the BIOS password and reset it to factory default, which still means you could lose data, but if you or the pros can't do that the only thing they could do is flash it. Which means physically taking a pin out and putting it back. If you've lost your video, you should still get on-board video, even if it is 8 bit, which is enough to reset your settings for video

You have a CPU with power requirements beyond what the motherboard's VRM can supply. This is a hardware incompatibility and you can't fix it with BIOS settings. You need to replace either the CPU or the motherboard.

You can try upgrading to BIOS version P07 or later. If there's a way to get the VRM to do it, those versions would do it.

you cant reset the bios, you need to re-do the bios update or put the previous version back, and never update the bios if everything works fine as you stated

Did you save your BIOS?

if yes try to downgrade it to the previous one.
