This computer freezes when I open the Internet browser. Freezes clicking on a link. Freezes opening a second browser and/or tab. Freezes trying to scroll down. Freezes right after it stopped freezing for about 2 minutes. Freezes on YouTube mainly. freezes closing a tab. freezes if i take if off screen saver.
It randomly and constantly freezes and it's annoying when I really need to use it.

It's Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3.
Intel[R]
Pentium[R] 4 CPU 2.40GHz
2.39 GHz, 512 MB of RAM.

Local Disk C
used space is 12.9 GB
free space is 25.2 GB
capacity is 38.2 GB
I have Microsoft security essensials and says I don't have any virus'
what is the problem? I have enough space, recycle bin is empty, I have nothing that is needs deleting at all.
It freezes for no reason, the computer itself says Dell right on it btw.

Judging by those computer specs, this computer is fairly old and if it hasn't been maintained properly for such a long time (i.e hard drive cleaning, de fragmenting etc) you will face performance problems.

If you can, the best thing to do is replace your hard drive and re-install a fresh copy of your operating system, a Windows 7 copy is ideal for this day and age.

If you cannot do the above, try and uninstall Internet explorer in the "Add and Remove Programs" option under the "Control Panel" in the "Start Menu". Next install Chrome, a link will be posted in the sources, and see where that takes you. Chrome is generally a lot better than internet explorer in the performance department.

The ultimate thing you could do to save a LOT of hassle, is buy a new PC. That hard drive is stunningly small so definitely look into replacing that at the very least. Most performance issues will trace back to the Hard Drive so a new hard drive will eliminate all the problems you are currently facing.

Hope this helps

Hia, at the beginning do no longer issue and quiet down !! good, occasionally the consequences of crashing are led to by making use of a million) Too many courses working at as quickly as or you clicking something continuously with velocity. 2) you have an infectious application on your pc e.g Limewire is properly-prevalent for viruses and in spite of the undeniable fact that i take advantage of it myself I even have been advised that MSN messenger eats up your pc 3) you have an epidemic on your pc so in case you have achieved or have any of topic factors then I advise you uninstall this technique or take it to a restore save.
