Desktop Icons missing-vista?

Question

On my Vista desktop there are no icons, including Recycle Bin.
I have tried to right-click, sort by name, size, type and date modified and right-click, personalize, chane desktop icons- but still no icons. Help would be very much apprieciated.

Oh, and I can't re-install Windows Vista, because it was already installed when I bought it.

I think you need little configuration..



1. in the desktop, right click, personalize

2. in the left side, click CHANGE DESKTOP ICONS

3. CHECK ALL desktop icons (computer, user files, network and control pannel (- you may opt to uncheck them)

4. click OK

Hi

Remove the battery for a short time replace and turn on computer this may solve it.

You should have received a recovery CD when you purchased your machine and/or a Widows Vista Installation CD.

Check your instruction book should tell you how to do a recovery as it may already be on a partition on the computer.

you can reinstall if you feel you need to, if you didnt get any discs when new it will have a recovery console built in. to enter the console most pcs use the F10 button, what you do is turn it off and then back on, immediately after you hit the power button start tapping F10 button until the recovery console appears and then choose which option you need, most pcs use F10 but some use F11, if one doesnt work try the other. you should also burn a set of recovery discs yourself, normally when new a bubble appears at the clock advising you to make a set of discs, in the start, programs there should be a back up utility to allow you to burn a set of discs for your machine but unfortunately a lot of people ignore this advice and then end up in bother if the hard drive fails, i suggest you make a set of discs as soon as you can, its the first thing i did with mine

she may well be enjoying a prank on you. good click the laptop (the place the icons could be), circulate to view, and consider that instruct laptop icons are checked despite if that's no longer: click it, and it will examine in the event that they are: open the initiating (the little flag on the backside of the show, and drag some icons onto your laptop
