If you can afford the Intel, get the Intel.

-Runs cooler

-More stable

-Better performance

Every pro out of the two, except price.

Intels can sometime run 2X more than an AMD "equivalent"

at the moment Intel is the swifter and extra expensive. AMD is going to be liberating a chip contained in the subsequent few months that should be swifter than the present Intel set. presently after that, Intel will do a similar. So it truly is a toss up. basically be sure that you'll quite use.

If you had asked this question 3 years ago the answer would be different but, right now intel has the lead with the core i7 and, that doesn't appear likely to change in the near future.

I've had both - no difference.

As long as the CPU speed meets the "Minimum Requirements" as listed on the game box or in the "Read-me" file(s), you'll have no problems.

I always go for the "Recommended Requirements" as that is sure to minimize any possibility of hassles.

The only difference is the cost of the CPU, as AMD is competition for Intel, they are cheaper as a result.

Both are good in the aspect that they can deal well with gaming as long as you get one that has a high enough GHz rating. But what you really got to look at is the Mother Board. If you get an Intel chip, you can never use an AMD chip in the same Mother Board. MoBos are built for a brand of chip. So look over your choice of MoBos and see which one offers you the best in options for components ,such as PCI, PCI-e, IDE, EIDE, SATA, USB... etc.

Intel = Faster but expensive.

Amd = Slower but cheaper.
