Good Computer Specs? Sony Vaio?

I was thinking of getting a Sony Vaio FW with these specs-

Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Processor P8700 (2.53GHz)

4GB DDR2-SDRAM (DDR2-800, 2GBx2)
320GB SATA Hard Disk Drive [5400 rpm]

Do these look good enough to translate into a relatively fast computer? Also I was thinking of upgrading the HD to 320 GB (7200 RPM) what would the differance of RPM do? Would it overheat more? Thanks Alot.

is the cpu a single core? i doubt it due to high specs but i would say it is a pretty good computer shouldnt have problems running any heavy programs or games. For being a laptop it is pretty good specs. rpm is how fast the hard drive writes but i wouldnt worry about that unless you are going to use your computer for video editing or something else with large file saving

Pretty sweat set up for a laptop, it can play most modern games on medium, that's for sure.



Regarding the RPM's, unless your planning on doing heavy hard drive read/writes then it is not needed to be honest. 5400RPM's is a very good speed for laptop uses. And for games, it will not bottleneck your CPU or GPU. It looks like this laptop was optimized for each spec to match perfectly.
