Can anyone suggest a graphics card for a Dell Dimension 1100 that would le tme run windows 7 (with aero)?

Minimun requirement for Windows aero:
*128-megabyte (MB) graphics card

Aero also requires a DirectX 9 class graphics processor that supports a Windows Display Driver Model Driver, Pixel Shader 2.0 in hardware, and 32 bits per pixel.

Wow... Dimension 1100? And old PCI, not PCI Express? Honestly, I wouldn't bother with Aero. While it says those are the min requirements, it really means "If you have this it will run, just barely, and be incredibly slow and laggy"

I dont think they even make PCI cards new anymore, good luck.

Chris,

I checked the Tech Specs of your desktop, and it does not mention any AGP or PCIExpress slot for a graphics card, so you have very limited choices.

I can give you a few, but BE SURE to ask for the PCI versions of these cards wherever you buy it from.

ATI Radeon X1550

ATI Radeon HD 2400 Pro

ATI Radeon HD 4350

Of course the HD4350 should be readily available.

Have a good day.
