I went ahead and ordered the Seasonic M12ii 520W for my old computer. Is this a good upgrade compared to my generic 305W power supply?

System specs:
E6600 Conroe
3.0 GB DDR2-SDRAM dual channel interleaved (4 sticks)
Onboard audio
3 HDD drives
NEC DVD recordable/rewritable drive
9-in-1 card reader
Sapphire Radeon HD 5670 512MB GDDR5

Thanks!

Hi yes it was a good choice the problem with these switch mode power supplies is the frequency increases the more load they take so to have plenty in reserve is a good option.

i have had less problems with all sorts of issues when i upgraded from a 400 watt unit to a 700watt unit.

That's a very good power supply. SeaSonic is about the best power supply manufacturer around. They're actually the OEM company that Corsair uses.
