I love FSX and I want to put a flight sim in my room. First, I want to make sure I have the right setup before I invest thousands of dollars into it. I'll be using a mixture of products from CH, Satiek, VR Insight, etc, and I don't want to have a single computer related problem. I've been planing this for months and I've come up with a design but I don't know what kind of computer to buy. I'll be using 3 monitors for scenery, 2 for panels, 1 for an EFB, and 1 for a GPS. Definitely high def and HDMI only, except the GPS which is VGA. This computer would be only for FSX and a few other simulation games.

So, for FSX ?:
Intel or AMD
Windows XP, Vista, or 7

Those are the only either/or questions I can think of, but I need opinions on other things like:
Hard Drive
Memory
RAM
Brand
Graphics !!!

So, what computer or computer setup is best for FSX?
What do you have?
What should I get?

Also, how do I set up all my monitors? I want to mount them and I'd like High Def. What do I need.
Also, what kind of add-ons do you have for FSX?
What do you think of:
AES
Captain Sim
Wilco Publishing
Aerosoft
FS Captain/Passengers/Crew

Anything Else?

Thanks

Best would be a PC that meets or exceeds the RECOMMENDED system requirement and not just the minimum;

http://asia.gamespot.com/pc/sim/microsoftflightsimulatorx/tech_info.html

And the requirement of FSX is not that demanding for current breed of computers (except perhaps the Atom based units). The 3.6GHz processor speed requirement is based on the old/outdated Pentium 4. Any current/recent Intel processor (except the Atom) would outperform the old Pentium4 in games.

Since you intend to play on a large screen better get a PC with a dedicated graphics card. It has its own graphics memory, thus won't "steal" memory resource from PC's RAM.

i've got by no skill considered a working laptop or computing gadget that DID run FSX nicely. My i7 2600k oc 4.6ghz, 16gb ram, and triple HD 6950 CrossfireX device could no longer do it completely. regardless of an i7 4770k and a GTX 770 Superclocked I even have uneven places. it is not your rig at fault. FSX is considered through many to be the main poorly optimized computing gadget interest in marketplace history. you're able to exceed the counseled to truly play....

personally i like intel and i have bin using 7 for some time now and its a real smooth OS.

With the computer i would suggest building it your self unless you were already planning to do so.

There is no reason to buy name brand you can go to www.newegg.com and get the hard drive, memory (RAM), processors, MOBO, and what ever els you need.

you can try going to techpowerup.com for any other help you may need.
