My Dell Dimension E521 won't turn on. The problem is that the power button is flashing green and the manual said all Its in deep sleep mode and it said to just press the power button and move the mouse, nothing happened. I've tried turning off the power bar and unplugging it and I've also making sure the power cable was secure. I don't know what to do. Any help please

Hi SoccerDude,

I would suggest you to drain out the residual power from the system by following the steps below:

*Disconnect any external peripherals (flash drives, printers, external hard drives) from the computer

*Disconnect the power cable from the system tower.

*Press and hold the power button for 10 seconds

You may check the status of diagnostic LEDs numbered from 1 to 4 located at the front of system tower. For Owner Manual, you may refer to the link: http://bit.ly/1eTU0Te.

Hope this helps.

they are known to develop a fault.

it could be mobo or psu

in most cases replacing the psu cures it.

also you can fool the psu by unplugging from the mobo

then shorting two pins on the mobo plug

this may allow the psu to start and so give it a sort of reset

whilst i dont endorse this sort of thing, if its the only way to reset the

stupid design of psu then i guess its worth a try

i suggest you search for it

you could try opening it up make sure you are grounded and there is a spot with a few small wires coming from the front they will be marked pw switch pw led etc. if you do pull them out make sure to remember where they go! but make sure they are all attached properly or you could have a bad power supply but try the wires first probably the pw switch wire
