1.Most of the laptop / pc you buy will come with Operating Software Pre installed and if you buy a pc without os you will have to use work arounds and bypass licensing restrictions and the problem with the OEM Operating Softwares are that they are often key coded to prevent it from installing in other pcs.Usually OEM Operating Softwares or softwares are locked with the Machine Address Code or

hardware code which makes it difficult to install in other pcs.And then even if you install it would be difficult to activate the os since Vista needs you to activate online.

For example whenever I tried to install drivers from my dell driver's cd to acer pc which had a similar config it would say this is not a dell computer.

2.You can use Microsoft Office Home and student or Microsoft Works 9 on another computer provided you have the CD Key but you are allowed to install only one copy with a single cd key.

The laptops that Best Buy sells all come with an operating system pre-installed.

Your operating system has already been registered to the Dell and can not be used with another computer. However, the Office may be used on another computer. The Home and Student version can be installed on up to 3 computers.

sounds such as you acquire workplace 2007 so which you will desire to have known retail set up disks for that suitable? if so purely bypass forward and set up it on your new workstation. you do no longer point out the rest nicely worth having on a sparkling workstation so purely paintings with regardless of the recent workstation has. it could have residing house windows 7 that's extra effective than vista so as which would be a plus suitable there. Toss Works, lol, its an entire piece of crap. Openoffice is much better to it and its loose.

Your installation on the new laptop would be invalid, you can only install windows on one computer at a time. It's also likely just a factory settings restore disk and will reset the computer to its original settings in case anything goes horribly wrong.

As long as it's a 64 bit machine there should be no problem.
