desktop icons wont unhighlight help me plz!!!!!!?

Question

for awile now my desktop icons have been stuck its anoying i can change the color of the background of the icons but i cant make them clear again some1 pease help iv tryed everything restarting computar i know im over reacting but its so anoying!

Try this:



Right click on your desktop and choose, 'Properties' then click on the 'Desktop' tab at the top of the little window. The choose, 'Customise Desktop...' the click on the 'Web' tab at the top. Then un-check the little boxes on there, that's the 'My current homepage' one and the 'Lock desktop items' one, then just OK everything and you should be done.



Note: It may take some time (Say 10 - 20 seconds) for the process to complete, so don't click the 'X' if it looks like it's froze up. It's thinking. :D

Right click on My Computer, then select Properties, go to the advanced tab and click the top Settings button. Then select, Adjust For Best Appearance or go to the boxes and Check (not UNcheck but CHECK) the box that says Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop.
