Well, i build my own custom gaming computer and everything is working fine, just one problem. My download speeds are horrible. Torrenting and file downloading is super slow. Computer specs are as follows.

AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT90ZFBGRBOX

GIGABYTE GA-770T-USB3 AM3 AMD 770 USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard

ENCORE ENLWI-N PCI 2.3 Wireless Adapter

2X(G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-4GBRL)

EVGA 01G-P3-1366-TR GeForce GTX 460 SE (Fermi) 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Support Video Card

Galaxy GeForce 512mb 210 graphics card

ASUS DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS Black SATA 24X DVD Burner - Bulk - OEM

Zalman Z7+ atx mid tower pc case

ATX Power Supply RX630Z Hybrid Series 640 total watts 135mm Fan

1TB 7200 RPM Hitachi Harddrive

Now the one thing is that when i put in the wireless card i did not install a driver for it, but when i turned the computer on it just worked. Would installing the driver from the cd make a difference or not since it works? I dont want to install it and then bsod my computer and **** it up.

for example torrents are averaging 2.5mb/s and World of Warcraft Patches are only getting 1.2mb/s. Even my laptop does better.

any help would be awsome.

The manufacturer's driver is ALWAYS a better way to go. They know how to make the best use of their hardware.

Microsoft will make a compatible driver that will get you out of trouble.

This driver will likely include bug fixes and will enable parts of the hardware not currently being utilized.

However if it screws up afterwards for some ungodly reason, you can still roll the driver back anyway.

Downloading a drivers should be fast has they are not torrents files, That only means when your using the torrent Pc2Pc file sharing your pirating your games, Tut Tut, where have you been for the last 3 months, that you have not heard the news about the use of Torrent file sharing websites, They have been closed down, Limewire being the biggest in the news for it being closed down Plus the fact that all ISP have started slowing torrent software down to a crawl, hence your downloads are so slow.

Your a gamer then this should be right up your street there are 48 games in this file some are strategy games, some are 3D action shoot em up's they are a legal download and don't use torrent file sharing software, I downloaded it in under an hour all 4.2 gigabytes @ 1..5 mbs

check this website out if your a gamer

If the wireless card is recognized by the OS you probably wont benefit from a better driver but unless you are having serious probs leave it as is.

2.5Mb/s is not that bad anyway. it's about 240k per/sec of data.

Make sure the router is not too far away or you speed will suffer.

i would install it. if it does cause problems you should be able to boot into safe mode and uninstall it

you're not getting any wireless interference are you? when you compared it with your laptop was that at approximately the same time and location in the building?
