USe the linux or opensource software called ntfsresize.
I did this when I setup Debian linux on my windows xp laptop. It works beautifully. You can google it and find it just about anywhere. Odds are the centos install cd will have it on there for your use. Sadly there is not enough room on here to go into detail to explain how to do it... It is scary at first because you can potentially lose your xp partition. But if you follow the directions you will sweat a little but it works wonderfully... I did it then on several other computers since then...
Good luck!!!!

I do not know about CentOS but some Linux distro helps you to repartition your hard disk (if you have only one big partition) during installation to make space for Linux; your Windows setup is not affected. But still, do a defrag and back up first.

You can create another partition using third-party software such as Magic Partition 8, or using Windows Xp installation cd. U must set a dual-boot partition to choose wish os u want to load during pc boot up, if not is going to load windows xp by default. search for dual-boot instructions.

Use Norton partition magic or any 3rd party software to create a new free ext2 partition for linux. If u have free space then it will works.

Partition is usually done before installing OS, unless you have a spare change for partition magic ...
