can i use my cpu on my bad computer till i get full build?

I wanna build a desktop I have a cpu amd fx 8350 atm I have a okay bad dell with windows 8.1 and like 3.5gig ram available on it I was wondering if I can use my cpu on it till I get full built like can I use it than transfer it to my full build or is it not ever worth using or taking the chance or my bad computer breaking it???

Dell specifically makes Intel based systems, so no you cant

Your dell must first be able to support the FX 8350. Without the specs on your Dell I can't give you any information.

If the Dell motherboard has an AM3+ socket, then yes. If Sporadic is correct about Dell/Intel, then no.

My understanding is that Dell computers are exclusively Intel, so there's no way that processor would fit.
