I recently bought this old Apple IIGS computer, but when I start it up, it tells me to "Check start-up device." When I restart the machine, sometimes it displays, "Fatal System Error: 0682." What's wrong with my machine? What can I do to fix it?

Are you opening a Museum?

Did you try a different disk? is the machine dusty?

You see, there are a number of things that can go wrong with these old computers. Here's a list.

- bad power supply

- bad disk drive

- bad disk

- bad monitor

You really should be looking for a forum for old computer enthusiasts.

Umm...why don't you get a NEW Mac? Unless you're opening an antique muesam...lol...you could try putting the CD (I mean FLOPPY disk) into the floppy disk drive and booting from that. If that works, then reinstall the OS. I have no idea if the Macintosh OS was even OUT when that thing came out. If it was, it was probably Mac OS v1 lol.
