Looking to purchase a mini pc to save money compared to buying a new laptop or desktop computer. I really like how you can hook it up to a tv and have a massive screen. I want a mini pc to be able to surf the web, use applications, be able to stream/download movies, play online games, and do video editing. I know the video editing will be hard as final cut pro is a mac thing, but i am also wondering do some of these mini pcs have the ability to download apps off of the web, like adobe photoshop/premiere and do these downloaded apps run fluently?

thanks for the advice guys I really appreciate it!

What's best about Mini PC is they take up less space and are also very fast. But when it comes to price, it can vary. Apple mini pc would be costly, so can try other manufacturers like AOPEN, Lenovo, Intel etc.

Well if you want one for $120, I'd suggest getting the M100 from http://dreamdesktops.com/

CPU: Dual-Core 1.6GHz

GPU: Mali-400 Quad-Core

RAM: 1GB DDR3

Diskspace: 32GB SSD

They also have a more expensive model, the M200 for $200:

CPU: Dual-Core 1.8GHz

GPU: Mali-400 Quad-Core

RAM: 2GB DDR3

Diskspace: 64GB SSD

If you want to do photo/video editing, I'd suggest you get the M200.

They both can also have the Androidx86 OS installed on them, which I believe is what you're looking for if you just want to surf, watch movies, etc.=

Or you could just get Windows 7 or 8.1 installed on them.

normally a mini-pc is more expensive due to the form-factor. If it is cheaper sure go for it
