amd 64x2 3400 Gforce motherboard. I have everything complete, when I power on it tells me to press F11 to goto boot set up. When I power on my keyboard flashes but then nothing I cannot press F11. I have tried normal keyboards and USB still no power to the keyboard only @ startup? My motherboard requires dual DDR2800 and supprts upto 16 gig ram. the only thing I had handy was a 2 gig stick of pc2 6400.
Could this be my problem? I wanted to use the ram I had if possible. Help

PC2-6400 is the same as DDR2 800Mhz.

It could be that you don't have dual channel memory, but if your machine is posting (you see that splash screen), then I would think everything is in order.

As someone suggested, make sure your keyboard doesn't have one of those silly "Function Lock" keys that you have to push before you press a F key.

Most motherboards manufactured recently will allow you to access the BIOS with a USB keyboard. I suggest you contact the manufacturer of the motherboard to see what they'd suggest.

If your motherboard requires Dual DDR2800,make sure you are using it.

The brand is important of course;never use cheap memory, but It MUST be DDR2800.

Try that, and most of your problems, will probably go away.

Also worth checking.

Go into Bios, and make sure Numlock is on when your computer boots.

This means the keyboard will light up automatically,on booting.

When booting up,when you see the keyboard flashing, press the "Num Lock" key.

It should stay on.

does your keyboard have a lock F button? mine does so when I want to boot into bios I have to hit the unlock F button (it's like the number key number lock)
