Hi there. It has been a while now, but i have had my phone connected before. Basically where i could go to 'my computer' and 'see' my phone, explore the phone/sd card's folders etc /Transfer files etc.

I tried it recently and im at my wits end trying to get it to show now.

Phone with debugging mode on.. i connect to pc and it makes a 'ta daa' sound SoMetimes {other times i get nothing, but it will charge} .. and it will say, its an unknown device however it has installed correctly as is ''ready to use'', pretty much words to that effect ...... but when i go to my computer i dont see my phone/removeable media.

Anyone know what the hell is going on? What is this debugging crap. All my previous phones have been simple plug in and play so to speak.

A while back my S2 was acting strange and was constantly showing a little power symbol/lighting strike over the battery energy level, onscreen. [Like it does when its plugged in to charge.]
But this was showing constantly. eventallyt just dissaprederd though after about a week. Now it charges all fine. And when connected to the pc it charges up but i just cant 'see it' to transfer files etc.

Tried Samsung kies aswell. Just kept saying 'connect a device' in greyed out text. Got nowhere.

Also ive tried two different usb cables. Same story.
And tried it with my wifes s/ace.......Although, i haven't done much trial and error etc connecting hers yet. Initially it didn't work.
My s2 however, ive tried many different combinations.

Help! Anyone got a slightest clue whats happening here?

Thank you.

I have a Galaxy Note 2 and I've had that error a couple of times... it's really nothing to worry about and there are a couple of things you can do to help resolve it.

First... if you get an unknown device or driver could not be installed error on your computer after connecting your phone... try switching to another USB port. When I did, my phone connected.

Windows Update.... after you phone is connected, you can try running Windows update and make sure you have RECOMMENDED UPDATES also checked.. and windows update will find a driver for your phone and install it.

Samsung Kies..... this is like Samsung's version of iTunes for their phones... If you haven't already installed this, you should give it a try... it will install USB drivers and allow other stuff like syncing, backups... podcast stuff...

I'm sure doing at least one of these will clear up your problem...

Ensure that the phone is actually turned on when you plug it in, as many devices (like my digital camera) won't show up unless they're turned on.

Make sure the cables are plugged securely into the device and the computer.

And lastly, I'd say make sure that there aren't any apps running on the phone.

When Device Manager says that it is an unknown device, that usually describes a driver error. You could right click the Unknown Device in the Device Manager and bring up the properties window and attempt to uninstall the drivers, then see if the phone will reinstall those drivers properly.

I had a similar issue, turn out my phone has an option for what to do when plugged into USB, either CHARGE or DATA, maybe yours has some type of option like that where you have to select what the phone does when connected?? hope this helps.

The only time a physical compliment is expected and truly appreciated by a woman (unless she’s naked) is when you first pick her up for a date. Learn here https://tr.im/tFgXe

She has put forth a great deal of effort to look good for you and her efforts should be acknowledged. Tell her she looks pretty or beautiful; maybe give her a little spin while you appreciate her loveliness. Then stop. After that moment all compliments should be general, like “that’s fascinating”, “cool” and “awesome”. You will make a woman feel more attractive by letting her know that that she is interesting and special than you will by talking about her physical attributes.

make sure that the cellular is incredibly grew to become on at the same time as you plug it in, as many units (like my digital digicam) can no longer ensue different than they are grew to become on. make beneficial the cables are plugged securely into the device and the laptop. And ultimately, i might say make sure that there are no longer any apps working on the cellular telephone. whilst device supervisor says that it incredibly is an unknown device, that on the whole describes a driving force errors. you may desire to suitable click the Unknown device interior the device supervisor and carry up the residences window and attempt to uninstall the drivers, then see if the telephone will reinstall those drivers properly.

Try using a very short USB cable, I found similar issues when using a standard USB cable
