My computer keeps freezing, forcing me to restart it. I've done virus scans, and there aren't any on my computer. What can I do to prevent it from freezing, because it's driving me a little crazy? I appreciate anyone and everyone's help.

The first thing to do is to check for overheating. Be sure the innards are free of dust accumulation and that the fans are running.
Second, suspect your operating system if it's Windows. Test by booting Linux from a Live CD - grab the iso from http://getpclinuxos.com/KDE/ and then burn your iso to a CD-R or CD-RW with the free program ImgBurn from http://imgburn.com - and boot your new Live CD right into Linux without affecting your Windows installation. Use Linux and see if freezing still happens.
If the freezing goes away, reinstall Windows - or get lucky and discover what's wrong with your installation. In my experience, reinstallation is the only answer (other than Linux) but it takes at least a day unless you keep a recovery hard drive image.
If the freezing still happens under Linux, congratulations - it's a hardware failure! Most likely is a failing video card, but trial-and-error is the only reliable way to find out for sure. I usually remove all non-essential cards, install a known-good video card, and add them back one at a time until freezing happens again.
Good luck!

it can be overloaded, it can be over heating, it can be demise(or no less than side of it) if viable, take the case off. this will likely support it calm down. take a look at hanging a window fan subsequent to it as to suck air out of the case. grime will construct up over the direction of time- blank cautiously while wanted. take a look at shutting down historical past programs that you just don't want, do not use mostly or are simply nugatory....variety ''msconfig'' within the run software. doing this close down apps, it DOES NOT DELETE THEM, so do not fear approximately wasting anything fundamental. simply go away virus safety and anti-spyware and adware on. if broke, repair.
