One Processor from A Quad not working and a hdd not showing?
i just got this computer new, everything worked fine and i did all my windows updates, then when i view my system it says its only triple-core processor, (it was quad, i did check it) and my (D) hard drive was gone.

i went ahead and downloaded all drivers updates from gateway but it hasnt fix the problem. i checked the devices, there only three processors listed and both hard drive are listed but one is located in 0? when i populate it shows the capacity but not the volume

here are the specs

Gateway GT5676
amd phenom 8450 quad processor 2.10ghz
vista 64bit
4gb ram dual channel
ATI Radeon HD 3200
2x320 Sata HDD

help me out i cant think of anything please :D

thanks.

I'm not sure where you got your info, but the phenom 8450 is a tipple core cpu, not a quad. This is what you have. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103254. Right click on computer and hit properties and it should verify the exact model cpu you have. I looked up you computer and it should have a AMD Phenom 9600 Quad-Core Processor. If your telling me it has an 8450 and not a 9600 you should contact whoever you got the computer from.

Your second hard drive is probably not partitioned. Go to control panel and disk management to partition it. The first disk is always disk 0 And the second will be disk 1. They also may have raided your hard drives. If they raided, you could have double the space on one drive and double the transfer speed, or your could have backed up mirroring, If you only have one drive listed in device manager, it is likely it cam pre raided.

I play COD4 and MW2 very appreciably yet i be attentive to in basic terms slightly approximately crysis warhead as nicely it being a very extreme portraits maintenance card. Your processor and ram are stable. yet you will no longer journey an extremely real looking gaming journey at bigger resolutions consisting of your portraits card, to be frank it falls fairly short. I actually have a 9800 GTX+ and in COD4 on my 23 inch visual exhibit unit with settings at 1280 X 1024 and 2X anti ailiasing i'm getting approximately one hundred fps which drops and rises in accordance to gameplay. So, in end i could fairly propose you get a clean video card, in case you're in an honest funds get the 9800 GTX+(stable), GTS 250(stable), or GTX 260(greater suitable). in case you have greater money to spend, get the GTX 295(suitable), GTX 470(suitable), or GTX 480(suitable). carry on with the stable manufacturers, PNY, BFG tech, Evga, XFX. i think of you will get approximately 40 5 fps (undesirable) maxed out counting on your exhibit length in COD4. yet possible play CoD4 and MW2 at medium to diminish settings and have stable fps. in simple terms dont activate anti ailiasing or intensity of field. you will in basic terms be waiting to play crysis at very low settings and get mabye 35 or so fps.
