Question:
Why do Mac users like to troll?

I see many Mac users like to troll on laptops/computers/desktop questions.

They brag about their Mac and it's so called 'powers', and give many links to the Apple site.

I've also known many of them to exaggerate how OS X is better and how Vista is a dud.

Like Macs are virus-free which is not true. My friend got one before, and she had to do lots of stuff to save her laptop.

And that Vista does not run well on computers. It does if you have a decent high-end/mid-range computer.

So why do they troll on questions, lie, and basically try to sell stuff for Apple?

Is it because they're paid by Apple? Jealous that they're stuck in Apple's propietary hardware and software?

I have an iMac, and I understand why users like it. But for the most part, most Mac users just lie and troll.

Why do they like to do this?

I agree, Mac users are always claiming Windows suck yet their happy as hell they can now install it on their Intel based crippled machines. How about when they say MS copies and is behind Apple? FALSE, the only way Apple survives is by copying MS tech previews and alpha builds and getting their own version out on the market beforehand.

UbiquitousGeek & gromit801 are prime examples as you can see in the question linked below (and all their PC/Mac related answers).

A*, of course it goes both ways. Ms. Dell is another very good example, she claims Mac's are inferior to PC's, HP is for poor uneducated people while Dell is for the wealthy and smart people. But the point is the Mac fan club really spread bullshit around here such as Mac's never crash and theirs absolutly no viruses for them either.

Ms. Dell set her answers to private recently but you been around here a while so Im sure you know what shes about.

Mac users troll because their proud of their purchase? I own a custom built top of the line rig that I know will rape most computers out their to **** yet you don't see me constantly rubbing it in, but now I feel I must...

Linda S, I wasn't going to bother with you until I noticed you added more nonsense to your answer... (gromit801's favorite line seen in the first link I provided) Mac innovates, Microsoft imitates?

Longhorn Alpha Build 4008, completed in 2001 (which screenshots publically available, mind you) featured:

-The Aero effect years before Apple's "Aqua" effect.

-The sidebar with gadgets, NOT ONLY before Apple's Dashboard, but also before Yahoo's Konfobulator (which Apple bought from Yahoo, and called it "Dashboard")

The Finder tool in the Start Menu was available from Microsoft.com as a free download add-on to XP a year and a half (18 months) before it shipped with OSX.

Microsoft Live Labs began working on its new SeaDragon technology 2 years before Apple began work on their "Resolution Independence".

Do some research before you claim Microsoft imitates Apple.

The only way Apple survives is by copying Microsoft's tech previews and alpha builds, and getting their own version out on the market beforehand.

Keep the thumbs down coming, it lets me know how many Ive pissed off.

I think you'll find there are more PC trolls than Mac trolls in the Computers and Internet category. Just like you, I've been using this site for just over a year and I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen answers to Mac questions such as "Macs suck, get a PC" or "Throw your Mac away and get a real computer". Hardcore trolls like Sammy K even go out of their way to bad-mouth Apple products.

Below is my response to some of your comments:

> They brag about their Mac and it's so called 'powers', and

> give many links to the Apple site.

I agree with Linda. Mac users love their products and Apple do have very loyal customers. When you see Mac users bragging on the site, I think in most cases, it'll be in retaliation to PC trolls. I provide links to different parts of Apple's website all the time. I do this to strengthen my answers and point Mac users (especially new ones) to helpful resources.

>I've also known many of them to exaggerate how OS X is >better and how Vista is a dud.

Truth be told, Vista isn't the greatest thing MS have come up with. It's not just my view, I've come across many PC users (personally and on this site) who feel the same. Some interesting reading:

http://www.itwire.com.au/content/view/13114/1090/

>Like Macs are virus-free which is not true.

You're right. OS X is not virus-free; no operating system is, but the fact is there are more viruses for Windows (with new ones being discovered everyday) than any other operating system. Getting infected on a Mac is so rare because they are so few viruses.

>And that Vista does not run well on computers. It does if >you have a decent high-end/mid-range computer.

You see, this is the problem. Not everyone can afford a high-end/mid range computer. For Microsoft to expect people to upgrade their hardware in order to run Vista is just ridiculous and goes to show just how much they care about their customers. Take OS X 10.4 for example; It's supported (and runs well) on Mac computers over 7 years old. I'm not "trolling" here. What I'm telling you is fact.

>So why do they troll on questions, lie, and basically try to >sell stuff for Apple?

Some Mac users may come across over-zealous in the way they provide their answers but I don't believe they troll and lie. If they do, I'd like to see evidence of it. Others are simply misinformed.

>Is it because they're paid by Apple? Jealous that they're >stuck in Apple's proprietary hardware and software?

Paid? - No. Jealous? - I don't think so. Proud? - Absolutely.

Mostly they don't know what they are bragging about.

First, it is not a PC that is inferior to the MAC, not at all, it is the operating system. They ***** and complain about PCs when it is Windows they are really complaining about (viruses). Well, there are other operating systems that will run on a PC other than Windows. Most Linux based operating systems rarely if ever get viruses, but their downfall is the limited programs that will run on them.

Microsoft has the support base, so it has the users, plain and simple.

Probably unlike most Macs which are stuck with Apple's software, PC users have a choice. Many different versions of Linux, Ubuntu and Windows just to mention the most common operating systems.

i think of one million/2 of the all people is opinionated douchebags and one million/2 of them comprehend what they are speaking approximately and are surprised that invoice Gates hasn't been publicly stoned for merchandising products with obtrusive risk-free practices flaws that could actual be crippled to the factor of being unusable. inclusive of an undemanding replace (made via Microsoft) freezing the boot technique in Vista the place you are able to no longer even boot your pc and are caught in infinite replace limbo. Microsoft needless to say has little or no activity in customer satisfaction, and has an obnoxious habit of doing little or no product finding out and then waiting till people deliver comments approximately catastrophic bugs and equipment faults they have discovered. Leopard had a great form of bugs while it became first released, yet Apple spent 2 years arising it and has released 2 considerable updates considering that then, and is approximately to launch its third. meanwhile, Microsoft spent 5 years on Vista, purely has one million considerable replace out for it, or perhaps now nevertheless won't be able to seem to attain consumer-friendly function and stability on loads of machines. i think of a extra advantageous question is why do people proceed to assist Microsoft while it particularly is needless to say an inferior product in each possible way? the respond: lack of expertise is bliss.

I have a Macbook and an Emac and I love them. I've used a PC and hated it. I just give my opinion. I don't know very much about computers but I know that on the PC I used, we had hundreds of viruses, and in the almost 10years of owning a Mac I've never ever had a problem.

They've got nothing better to do with their lives than bragging about their computers. Just pity them.

By the way:

I'm apathetic about all this... in case anyone wants to call me a Mac-hater or something. I really don't care at all.

You are a jerk. Mac users just happen to love their MACS. Apple has the highest brand loyalty of any computer on the market. When you got it, flaunt it. Why are you PS guys always putting MAcs down. Maybe they are only 10% of the market, but so is Rolls Royce. Jealous???
