Video card question plz answer?
ok i hope there are sum ati guys or gals on tonight

video card 1.ati radeon hd 3870 x2

video card 2.codename:spider

here is the question.... is it the same card 1 and 2, if not what card is better... the ati website is just confusing me, so if ya could give me data, thx

Ok. Here's the real deal. Your ATI is a smoking graphics card.



The "Spider" is the whole kit'n'kaboodle package that contains AMD's Phenom Processor, Motherboard, Chipset and the ATI 3870.



When you stated you have an ATI 3870 x 2, I believe your telling me you have 2 physical graphics cards in your machine. You can chain up to 4 3870's together for an impressive output.

Your 3870 is better since Codename: Spider only has 3800 HD. Although both with their GPU's. I'd go with the 3870 cause of that teraflop of computing power. That's the same amount of power as the xbox 360 cards and motherboard and what not. That's a pretty extreme card. I'm very jealous.

radeon hd 3870 seams a bit stronger choice. But as a manufacturers are related the difference is not so big. But I personally would take ati radeon hd 3870 x2

Well, I don't know either, all I know is that I have the radeon thing. Works perfectly with the ATI motherboard. And by the way, in the box of my video card, I looked at it, and there is no words like codename:spider. I think they are different.
