It really depends what you're doing. Here is the start of a playlist from Linus Tech Tips where they do a variety of bench marks for games on the two CPU's. It's a fairly neck and neck fight with each taking a number of wins.

What you need to look at though is the bonus technologies and avaible programs attached to each CPU. With the 3570K you have Intel SRT or Smart Response Technology. Just say you haev a number of programs all installed on a mechanical drive or there's files on there you're always accessing. Intel SRT is basically SSD smart caching your most heavily used files, making load times a lot less. It's avaible on the Z68 and Z77 chipsets as well as a number of other Intel platforms with the exception of X79/2011. Another thing that Intel offers that AMD have completely overlooked is Intel Tuning. It's a program run by Intel with the aim of giving you piece of mind when overclocking. Intel warranties don't cover damage to the CPU when you're overclocked however with the Intel Tuning plan, you get a free replacement if you kill it. It's only about $20 for the 3570K. Something else to remember is that Haswell - the next generation of Intel CPU's, is to be released on the 2nd of June 2013 with approximately a 10% performance increase over the existing Ivy Bridge CPU's.

the form of those 2 processors is the following the Intel i5-3570K contains 4 complete cores, this suggests each center has an ALU and a FPU. the AMD FX 8350 is outfitted in a unique way. it contains 4 same communities of INCOMPLETE twin center processors. this suggests each center has its own ALU even if both cores percentage a million FPU. it is the bottleneck of the FX processors because the FPU is used plenty. ALU = mathematics & good judgment Unit (Integer mathematics) FPU = Floatingpoint Unit the important situation is now the duty of the threads to the cores. this does no longer remember for an Intel cpu yet for the FX it concerns. the cores of the FX are paired a million&2, 3&4, 5&6, 7&8 and assuming you've a application operating on 4 diverse threads (e.g. Battlefield 3) and the threads are assingned to the cores a million - 4, then in reality 2 FPU's should be used even as the different 2 are idle. with the intention to get the most perfect performance from the cpu the OS ought to assign the 4 threads to the cores a million, 3, 5 and seven yet this isn't certain. for this reason the Intel i5 beat any FX processors in gaming. in case of video enhancing issues look something diverse. i desire you recognize now how both processors paintings. the determination is as a lot as you. btw, my prominent cpu is the Intel i5 regardless which form.

Get the Core i5-3570k, it is much much better for gaming. In most other tasks, it also outperforms the fx 8350. You can look up some benchmarks, they do help.

Personally, i would go for intel i5-3570k, it is very much overclockable. And you dont need really expensive motherboards. Like the Gigabyte Z77 -ud3h costs 130$US. You can also get motherboards for 100$ from Intel and ASrock. However, i prefer gigabyte.

I have seen a fx 8350 in action( Gaming) and it was not really good. I have used an older i5 model and it was superb! paired with a gtx 560, i could play every game back 3 years.

As for multitasking, you have 16gb of RAM which can help alot.

So go with an intel configuration, it is more expensive, but you will also get the performance.

Well bench marks puts the 8350 ahead of a 3570K by a pretty good margin. The AMD is not really inferior to Intel. I've used an A8-3850 with a 7850 video card and it plays Skyrim beautifully without stutter or glitches. Of course my 3770K with GTX670 4Gb. is better, but that has a lot to do with the video card itself. I use a 3570K with a 660Ti for my "general work" and graphics art and there are only subtle differences between the three machines. I don't see were a 8350 with a 7950 wouldn't be a kick $#@# machine!
