Hello, my laptop has the intel hd 3000 graphics adapter built into my laptop.

The problem is I went through I don't know how many threads and getting no where.

It shows "Intel Vga compatiable adapter"

Graphics are very slow. I am currently running Opensuse 12.1

Has anyone got this video adapter to work on this version of linux? Please post the version of linux you have (only if sucessful and speed is fixed) if opensuse is not the best option.

If you have gotten the video to work fast and all that, please send me the exact instructions to get the 3d part to work. (prefer terminal instructions)

Try using an up-to-date distribution.

While I cannot answer for Linux fixes and whatnot because I use Windows, I can say that Intel graphics are EXTREMELY slow. For example, My mom bought a brand new laptop, with Intel HD graphics. Her computer couldn't run SWTOR at all. Couldn't render anything. My 2005 laptop with a Radeon X1400 could play SWTOR on all low settings, with 20+ FPS. The problem more than likely runs in the video card being super slow

try a desktop environment which does not require fancy graphics, you install it into the current system, like a massive theme change. xfce is a good choice, plenty of configuration options, yet easy to use, can be made to look like almost anything.

"Xfce is a lightweight desktop alternative to gnome and kde. To install it on opensuse, open a terminal and run the following command

sudo zypper in -t pattern xfce

It will install the all packages necessary for the xfce desktop. Now logout. On the login page, in the Session menu there should be and entry for Xfce. Select it to login into the xfce desktop."

or the graphical way:

" YaST > Software > Software management. Choose Patterns from the View button. Scroll down to Desktop environments. Check the two boxes for the two you want and click Accept lowe right. "

Intel integrated %. are undesirable. Sims 3 will run at minimum settings at 30fps with it. i will see with the help of the processor that this could properly be a working laptop or laptop, so changing the %. card should not be conceivable. for this reason, once you intend to game, get one extra laptop. whilst you're in contact approximately value, you will could desire to be waiting to get the comparable specs plus a superb %. card (AMD HD6000 sequence/nVidia GT500 sequence) for yet another £50.
