My Computer just shuts off after about 20 minutes of use. Any Thoughts on whats wrong?

I am able to restart again aver 15 minutes? WHATS WRONG? Any help would be appreciated as I use my computer for business

It could be too much dust on the heat sink or one of your fans no working.



Download speed fan (search it on google its free). That will tell you the running temperature of your internals. If it overheats its the mentioned above. if it doesn't, then at least you've eliminated on solution to a problem with many possible solutions.

If you can't restart for around 15 minutes something is causing the circuit protection in the power supply to trip. You may have a faulty power supply.



Take the computer to a service shop.



In addition, research writing a business continuity plan (BCP) and a disaster recovery plan (DRP). The BCP will allow you to function when computer problems occur because you will have something in place, say, a backup computer. The DRP just details how you will recover form a disaster.

A few possibilities:



First verify you don't have your hard drives set to turn off. Click



start settings and then control panel.



Click on the "Power Options" icon



In the Power Schema Window under "turn off hard disks" ensure the setting [drop down box] is "never".



In the Power Schema Window set the "Suspend" drop down box to "never"



Click the Hibernate tab and "uncheck" the hibernate icon.





Another problem could be cooling, especially if the fan on your CPU has failed or is failing.
