Question:
Why am I receiving this error when trying to run Battlefield 3?

Failed creating D3D device of at least version 10.0 on adapter "Intel(R) HD Graphics" with driver "Unknown". Error is DXGI_ERROR_UNSUPPORTED ("Unsupported").

This is typically caused by not having the minimum required DirectX support in the GPU.
For NVIDIA GPUs, DirectX 10.0 support is required.
For AMD and GPUs from other vendors, DirectX 10.1 support is required.

I made sure I have DirectX 11, ran dxdiag and in display I see this:

Device:

Name: Intel(R) HD Graphics
Manufacturer: Intel Corporation
Chip Type: Intel(R) HD Graphics (Core i5)
DAC type: Internal
Approx. Total Memory: 1696 MB
Current Display Mode: 1920 x 1080 (32 bit) (60Hz)
Monitor: Generic PnP Monitor

DirectX Features

DirectDraw Acceleration: Enabled
Direct 3D Accelaration: Enabled
AGP Texture Acceleration: Enabled

Is it the case that I don't have the correct driver? My other PC games are also not running as smooth for some random reason. My PC is pretty decent, 8GB RAM etc..

What could be causing it not to run BF3?

I will gladly provide further requested information.

You are using your integrated GPU to run a BEAST of a game. I would suggest going to newegg.com and purchasing a HD6770 or a GTX 550 ti minimum. They will support that. Apparently you don't have the correct drivers. You can go inside of your BF3 folder and look for directX and run that. Something isn't working with DirectX 10. That is pretty much the weakest integrated GPU you can find. I mean it is powerful for movies and whatnot but for full blown games like BF3 it is going to have issues.

The reason is not RANDOM. The reason is because graphically speaking your computer is VERY weak.

If when you run that directX exe file you still run into issues which I am assuming you will you should download this. It might just shed a bit more light on this problem http://www.piriform.com/speccy/download . When it is installed go ahead and run it then copy and paste your Graphics info. Click on Graphics on the left hand side of speccy and then copy and paste your info like this

I see "DirectX Support 11.0

OpenGL Support 5.0" so my GFX card should support that game. I have played the beta version so I know it does. I would then look at my other hardware if I was still having issues.

See the DIrectX and the OpenGl? That is key.

Just search for your BF3 folder and when you are in there search it for DirectX. You should see many redistributables for direct X but one directX.exe.

This does seem to be kind of wondering why your Ford Pinto isn't performing like a Ferrari. You need a dedicated card like this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130657 for BF3. Your CPU integrated GPU just isn't up to the challenge. That card even comes with an available LIFETIME warranty. You register the card and upload your invoice/receipt and should it EVER die then EVGA will replace it. No need to wonder y I have an EVGA card. They are an EPIC company born in 1999 that KNOW what they are doing and stand behind their card like most others couldn't even dream of doing. Most you normally see is 3 to 5 years.

Yea the foundation internet site simply crashed I believe LOL Ok good I had the equal concern as you this morning. Make certain your utilizing an account with an age of over 18 and the beta might not be to be had on your field, so set the account to whatever just like the U.K.
