when i first had the motherboard it had 1 bent pin.. It was a replacement RMA from scan and didnt have a CPU socket protector when it came, im guessing it wasnt brand new. I should have sent it straight back but it was easy enough to straighten out and the pc "worked". I kept getting blue screens so i RMA'd my RAM.. now i have full set of brand new ram and the problem persists. While re-pasting the CPU i dropped the cpu and bent 2 other pins (yes im an idiot). Managed to straighten these out too but now i am gettin lots more troubles than just the blue screens.. Constant lockups/freezes with crackling sound. All very random.. sometimes i can be doing nothing but my pc is on.. other times i can play games like BC2 for an hour it it will crash. Do you think the bent pins are causing this ?

System specs
Q6600
new 5770 vapor-x
4GB DDR2 800 crucial ballistix
Gigabyte X48-DQ6 mobo.

Thanks.

Boot to BIOS then go to PC Health Status Page. Let it stay there for about an hour. If there is nothing abnormal on voltage and temp readings and PC does not restart, hardware is generally stable. Your problem could be software related. Try running 2 hr OCCT stress test. You might get some clues from the stress test.

There should be no bent pins in the hardware(cpu or motherboard), it is best to straighten them out using mild force.

If the CPU fits in the socket properly and your system is able to POST, certainly no issues with the hardware.

Once the system POSTs, everything is controlled by the software, so it is more likely a software issue. Perform a clean reinstall of your OS and use all signed drivers for network, audio and display.

Also use a good anti virus solution. This should solve the problem.

Have a good day.

particular sounds like the mum board has crashed in reality the PSU will demonstrate screen the board and if any topics happen the PSU will close off the means to the board so this is smart that the followers paintings for a 2d or so then the PSU detects a fault and shuts comp down. wish that enables and best of success.via how what i'd attempt is resetting the bios or come out the board battery a jiffy and then see what comp does bec perhaps this is a placing contained in the bios that brought about this situation.
