At that price you wont get much of a gaming computer, especially with a screen and made by Dell or HP. If you want a capable gaming computer at that price, you either have to build it yourself, or check out ibuypower.com, or cyberpower.com for prebuilt gaming computers at decent prices. I think they may have specials. Or you can check out HP's Pavilion Elite e9300z series computers, they start at 599.99. just choose a better graphics card than the Radeon HD 4350 it comes with. Though I wish they had offered at least an Nvidia GeForce GT240. A GT220 barely qualifies as a gaming card.

You will not get a pre-built gaming machine for that price, ever. You need to look at 1400 dollars for a pre-built gaming machine.

If you custom build it, you can build a respectable machine for 850 to 900 dollars that will make the 1400 dollar dell look like a boat anchor. I like this site http://www.pcper.com/hwlb.php to get a feel for components. Post on their forums and they may be able to help you trim down what components you need to build your system in your budget.

Any 'gaming system' you find pre-built for that price is a lie. Also, don't say you want a '1GB nVidia card', that's like saying "I want firestone tires that have big treads!", it means nothing and sets you up to buy cheap junk or overpriced 'racecar tires'.

Do not buy an HP gaming machine. HPs break ALL THE TIME. I have to fix more HP hardware problems than any other three brands COMBINED. Dell is only slightly better, they put underpowered hardware in good looking cases and sell it for twice what it's worth.

Take your pick here. You could also build your own, based on 'barebone' kits.
