So I just installed a new video card and after 5min after turning on my computer the whole computer froze. Mouse wouldn't respond, caps lock light wont turn on on the keyboard, everything's frozen. I booted it into safe mode and same thing happened. I then switched the video output to the on board video output and it still does the same thing. What is wrong?

Sounds like pissed off drivers. Did you completely uninstall the onboard video drivers before plopping in the new video card?

Without more info on your system specs etc it is hard to give a definite diagnosis, The first thing to check is if the fan is running on the video card if it has one. Solid lockups like that can be the videocard getting very hot.

It may also be an incompatibility with your motherboard, psu could be too weak, driver issues, etc etc.

Make sure that your motherboard has a PCI-e express 2.00 slot and not PCI-e v 1.00, most new cards are of the 2.00 and 2.1 variety, I and know for sure that an AMD 5, 6, and 7 series are version 2.1 and these WILL NOT work properly with a PCI-e v1.0 slot motherboard without a BIOS update.

The fact that the same is happening in safe mode kind of rules out driver issues.

Okay, First reinstall the previous video card onto your computer. If you pc is responsive to the previous laptop than that might be a compatability issue.

If it does not respond to the old graphics card than the issue will probably be heavily based upon software corruption.

Try these steps in order to help recover your computer:

1. Take out the battery and put it back in

2. Use the "wipe and Load" technique (reinstalling the windows OS)

3. Go to an I.T. do help fix it

If all else fails than sadly I think it's time to buy a new computer

Is it an older ipod? or outdated laptop? I had that exact same undertaking, i substitute into utilising the two an outdated laptop AND outdated ipod, it could lock up and take continuously or each so often not even flow songs till i attempted some cases, each so often I had to reboot my laptop. After upgrading my laptop and getting a bran new ipod each little thing labored completely. If its an older ipod, you ought to attempt upgrading the utility/firmware on the ipod, i think of you're able to try this from itunes possibly. i could wager that's the ipod that has issues. i don't comprehend how your shifting information, yet once you attempt to pull like 10 songs at a time, attempt in easy terms doing one or 2 songs at a time. greater approximately my tale... approximately 3 or so months after my ipod began going all slow like that, it died, basically I didin't use it for like 4 days and as quickly as I grew to become it on, each and all the songs the place lengthy gone! is likewise your ipod getting close to finished?? Mine substitute into purely approximately finished, had like 3 or 4GB loose. And mine substitute into each so often slow with attempting to play songs. in case you ipod is going slow with enjoying songs or locks up whilst attempting to browse songs, thats a solid indication its the ipod dieing. Upgrading the firmware on the ipod ought to help.

I would suggest you take your new video card out & put your old one back in. This will take care of problem.
