You really did not specify exactly which i5 CPU you are looking at, but Im going to try my best to help answer your question.
It's really hard to determine a motherboard that is right for you, there are over 209 different motherboards to chose from on the LGA1155 platform and all have different colors schemes that I may like but you do not like, or have features that would benefit me but not you or vice verse. That being said, I will try to help you the best I can to determine which board is right for you.
When it comes to ATX boards it all depends on what you are looking for, such as how many sata ports you want or need, LED debug readouts on the motherboard is a plus, it helps you trouble shoot your hardware alot easier if something ever goes wrong, and how many power phases are on the motherboard.
Some of the best company to look at when choosing a Motherboard for a Sandy-Bridge or Ivy-Bridge are,
1) MSI
2) ASUS
3) Gigabyte
theses 3 company's have outstanding Intel boards to chose from.
When choosing a motherboard for your Intel i5cpu consider prices
a board for $75-$100 are entry level boards, which manly just have the basics to get you up and running ( great boards if you are on a budget.)
Motherboards ranging from $134.99- $200 are enthusiast motherboards, the higher the price the more features you get and they all have great overclocking abilities.
This guide goes for the New Intel Haswell CPU's as well, just remember that the new Haswell CPU's are on Socket LGA1150 motherboards. Haswell is not backwards compatible with Socket 1155 motherboards and Sandy-Bridge/ Ivy-Bridge CPU's are not forward compatible with socket 1150.
Hope this helped you,
