The above allows for multi GPU option with the crossfire capable motherboard, full support for 45nm quadcores (2009) with HT 3.0/ddr2 1066, latest PCIex16 2.0 and well even the casing looks cool at least in my opinion :P

For a budget gaming PC I think you got a good deal, bro. Newegg's price is better though. Personally, if I'm to buy one i'll go for something with the follwoing specs:



1) CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2

2) Motherboard: SLI-ready(socket AM2)

3) Memory: minimum of 2GB

4) Graphics Card: something that's faster than your CPU. Graphics card is the most important single component of a gaming PC. So, I recommend spending a little more on the card and a little less on the CPU.

5) Hard drive: the bigger the better (SATA 2)

I think that's overpriced. You're going to want more memory and a better video card. An 8500 GT has 12.8 GB/sec memory bandwidth and a fill rate of 3.6 billion/sec whereas another $30 - $40 can get you an 8600 GT with a fill rate of 8.64 billion/sec and Memory Bandwidth of 22.4 GB/Sec.

The downside is that you have to install the operating system itself but that's what helps save on the cost. If you already have XP on a system that you're not going to use anymore, do what you can to transfer that XP key over to the new computer. Of course, you must remove XP from that PC when you are done.

Too much money for what it has. Here's a comparable rig that has 2GBs of faster DDR2 800 ram, a bigger hard drive, Vista Premium so you can game in DX10, a 2.66Ghz X6750 cpu that will destroy that 2.2 AMD a DVD-Rom drive AND a DVD-burner, etc.

The "combo deal" even throws in some Logitech X230 speakers for free.

The PSU kind of sux thou compared to the Corsair in your rig. You'd have to upgrade the PSU on the Newegg rig when you go to a high-end card which I suggest you do as soon as you can if you want to do some serious gaming.

The Sims is incredibly relaxing. It takes up fairly a number of your pc memory yet its fairly stable. additionally video games like Sonic and great Mario are stable. however the Sims is my primary :D
