Windows Media Center computers are the number one way to get Windows Media Center on your computer, since obviously they come with it. You have to install Windows Media Center on the computer if you want to use Windows Media Center with your 360 and PC.

If your computer is not able to support Windows Media Center, then it may be quite difficult to use Windows Media Center with your 360 and your PC.

You will need either Windows XP Media Centre edition or one of the Vista edition which has Media Centre. Media Centre is not an additional program which can be installed. It is a part of the Operating System.

If your not considering getting Vista, then if you must have a copy of Windows XP Media Center 2005, Update Rollup 2 and software that you need to run Extender. you can get the software from the link below. to find out if you are running media center 2005 just simply press: Windows Key + Pause Break. Hope this helps.

If you upgrade your Windows Media Player to version 11

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/11/default.aspx then you will be able to share media from a Windows

XP computer to the 360 ( I use all the time to stream my mp3s as custom soundtracks) .

How to turn on Media Sharing for Media Player 11

Hope that helps.

You can as long as you actually have a stand alone Vista Disc and not an upgrade disc. That way if worse comes to worse you can start over with the disc. If you have an upgrade disc then it is best to leave the recovery volume alone.

Yes, you need Windows XP Media Center Edition. And you spelled "center" wrong.
