Do i need a set top cable box to connect my windows media center for TV use?

No. You can goto best buy or wherever and get a usv tv tuner for like $70 and plug s-video, rca, and coax which is the regular thick black cable into it, and your computer will be able to get whatever channels go into it.

There are various types of TV tuner cards in the market. They are:

1.TV tuner cards with AM / FM.

2.TV tuner cards with Set top kit.

3.External TV tuner cards.



But its not advisable to connect the Set top box to a computer…. Especially which has been loaded with windows media center edition because many features like recording, pausing may be disabled!!!
