Hello Breanna,
If you find you do not encounter significant problems, then you should NOT change the machine's Domain-joined status, but if you encounter problems then consider the advice shown here:
http://forums.cnet.com/7723-19411_102-568932/how-to-move-from-domain-to-workgroup/
And here:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/31686-63-cant-windows-computer-removing-domain-workgroup
Alternatively, if you wanted to attempt to change its status (rather than restoring it to factory settings after backing up your files), you should first ensure your administrator account is made a member of the Local "Administrators" Group, using "Local Users and Groups".
This is to ensure you have a viable LOCAL users Administrator account to which to log on.
Notes:
I) The following is NOT the procedure for changing the status of the machine from "Domain" to "Workgroup".
II) Only do the following if you intend to go on to do the separate procedure (not included here) of changing the machine from "Domain-joined" to "Workgroup.
Adding Domain User to Local Administrator Group:
This must be done before attempting to change a machine from being "Domain"-joined, to being "Workgroup".
1) Log on to an account with Administrator privileges.
Start/Right-click Computer/Manage.
2) Computer Management Console:
Expand "System Tools" (left side)/
Expand "Users and Groups"/
Click "Groups".
3) In the "Details" pane:
Right-click "Administrators" group/Properties.
4) Administrators group Properties:

If necessary use Scroll Bar to scroll down List.

Or:
