Ive heard that the 480s run far hotter then the ATI cards which is fine, but it sounds as if that would also mean they are able to be overclocked less than the ATI cards. In any case, i would be using a waterblocked setup so that they would be able to be clocked higher while staying cool.
Another thing that ive seen to find is that 3 5870s actually out perform 2 5970s in many cases, and they can more easily be clocked to even exceed the 5970s speed. Which im not sure is right.
Then the last thing is that im curious as to whether the nVidia tesselation, physX, and 3D vision are worth it. I have heard about ATI now allowing 3rd party 3D which makes for more available products and better but im not sure how it compares.
The last thing that i have heard is that the ATI cards have been known to have a great more deal of microstuttering which has been known to make it hard to deal with in game.
