Question:
Installing OS X on a personal built computer?

Im new to the whole hackintosh thing, but i was wondering if this would work...

Apple has an embedded code in the Mac operating system that, when it recognizes non-Apple hardware, sends the system into a “kernel panic,” a state usually associated with an internal fatal error. The kernel panic is self-induced by Apple’s embedding of code to prevent operability on computer hardware systems that are not Apple-Labeled Computer Hardware Systems.

So what if you picked up a second hand iMac or something then used some of its hardware in your new computer.

Another option might be install OS X on a hard drive pull the drive from the mac and then use it as one of the hard drives in your computer and boom you have a pimped out mac.

Would this work???

As was said, "Hackintosh" is possible, but not legal. Apple's OS is made for Macs only, and to install it (hacked or not) on anything else violates the Terms of Service.

Pulling a drive from another computer and installing it would render the programs (including the OS) useless on that drive. The data could be read, but that's it.

If you want an Apple OS, buy a Mac.

The first part of your post shows you done your homework, the second part of post shows you really havent a clue how it really works.

The iMac hardware are not transferable to other hardware other than another mac, and pulling out the HDD to a new non-mac computer is just not possible as part of the OSX kernal are build on the hardware its installed on.

If you really want a Hackintosh, do a bit more reading and you will find the hardware you need to built one, and sadly it will not be plain sailing if you are after a powerful one.

I dont comprehend why. because of the fact apple is evil i assume. because of the fact while the mac u are utilising becomea old apple needs you to circulate spend 1500 money on a clean laptop while all you somewhat mandatory grew to become right into a greater ram so so which you are able to play starcraft 2 and hear itunes on the comparable time. yet apple says no. Thats my wager. and additionally apple is very closed. you ought to apply what's mase by utilising apple. Simliliar to ipods and itunes, like how garageband is the only reliable music creater (no longer mixer, only creater). Kinda like that i think of. And abode windows doesnt care in case you purchase greater ram to your laptop so which you would be able to play a pastime and hear music.
