Yes. Plenty of people do it, including me. Your options are to physically partition the hard disk and install a different OS on each partition.

Or you can nominate one OS as your main OS and install Virtual Box onto it. Virtual Box is free and runs on Windows, OS X and Linux. From there, you can set aside some disk space as a "virtual" disk partition for your other OS, and install the other OS from within Virtual Box. This means that your second OS becomes a "window" within your main OS, and you don't need to physically shut down and restart the computer.

At one point I had OS X as my main operating system for my MacBook. I also had Windows 7 on a separate physical partition, and Windows XP and Linux as Virtual Box partitions running within OS X. Everything worked very smoothly.

It's safe. you can use 2 OS on same laptop. Once upon a time I use Windows 7 and Windows 8 at my Laptop.

Totally. I have 3 on mine. I like to partition my SSD boot drive so I can run Ubuntu, Windows 10, and Hacintosh and then I save all of my files on a second internal HDD that will have my files no matter what OS I boot up in.

Completely. I have 3 on mine. I like to parcel my SSD boot drive so I can run Ubuntu, Windows 10, and Hacintosh and afterward I spare the greater part of my records on a second inner HDD that will have my documents regardless of what OS I boot up in.

I wouldn't recommend it unless it was 2x Linux or 2x Windows. Dual booting Windows & Linux is too much a headache as Windows always crashes and corrupts the GRUB loader upon attempting recovery even if physical disk retail licence.

If you are lucky enough to have a laptop with 2 storage disks then sure though selct OS in BIOs rather than boot loader.

Setting up a dual boot is safe to run on any laptop if your specs meets the minimum requirements to run the OS

like everyone says yes BUT

get your serial or model number look up processor memory speed

depending on those and how big your hard drive is i have run all

versions of windows and 3 linux at the same time but its more

along the expert user line to do you have to know partitioning

and how big each partition has to be and a program to manage

the operating systems and hide them from each other

windows is crap and can only hide one copy unless your

a really good power user this is not to be toyed with

it wont do permanent damage but it could leave

stuff that only a shop or expert could clear before being

able to reload like the master boot record the program

used to manage the operating systems not permanent

damage but things you need special software to wipe

the drive to start all over

As Bob said, yes, it is safe and many of people do it including me as well :). My way is totally about installing the second operating system (OS) within the VirtualBox application.

If you know what your'e doing it's quite safe yes. Be sure to have a good enough laptop though, as it may slow down in the long run.

Sure. Go for it. Running two os's shouldn't cause an earthquake.

Yeah you may easily use two Os in one Laptop.. through multi booting... and it will be beneficial for you that you can use your two OS alternatively.

It's safe but be sure that ur laptop is really high config 1, coz it's can make ur laptop leggy, it's better to have a hard drive(7200 rpm) with a nice core processor, hope u understand what i mean to say.

Yes you can. No conflicts are there if you use it. But if, the OS currently booted with administrator privileges can access all the files in another OS.

It's safe as long as you run them on different partitions and save your other files in another partition.

As long as they don't have access to weapons or knives and such... sharp objects... they might try to attack each other, especially when one is sleeping.

But seriously, it is safe, it's just like installing another piece of software.
