Right now it is accessing only 2MB of the 4MB that I have available. In XP there was a switch or something, but how do I do this for Vista 32-bit? Thanks.

Normally 23-bit OS don't reconize more then 3.2 GB of ram.....however there is a method. Two thing you should consider. 1. You need a 64-bit processor. 2. Memory mapping or shared memory can also use your systems ram. you will need to add another 4 bit logical addressing by default it is done by enabling PAE mode. There is no "switch". It is physically impossible for a 32-bit OS to read more than about 3.5 GB of RAM. If it's only reading 2GB, then there is probably an issue with one of the sticks of RAM.

old... I agree, it become... :/ For Vista, you opt for a minimum of 2GB of RAM Processor, this is advise to have some approximately 2.0 GHz... $group that 2GB's of RAM in case you haven't got some extra effective CPU...

agree with Mike - suggest you power off, remove all RAM cards, hoover and brush out the card slots, then refit both cards firmly and see if more than 2GB shows up (I get 3.25GB on XP Pro)

If you still only see 2GB, then power off and remove one card, and retest.

Replace that card and retest with other one removed.

If one card shows as faulty, then you found your problem.

If you get 2GB showing with either one, then there is a mobo problem AFAIK.
