Question:
Sound card not working?
2008-05-12 14:36:32 UTC
So my sound card isn't working (if you didn't already guess that from the title). Saturday it was working and I took my computer over to my friends house and spent the night. Came home late Sunday and hooked up my computer but didn't turn it on. I turn on my computer when I get home from school Monday. I turn on some music but I hear nothing.

I've plugged in everything correctly sound card is working (so it says) and I've tried different programs.

Any help would be greatly appreciated :D

My sound is a X-Fi fatality.

first of all, uninstall your sound drivers, then open your case and reseat you sound card. then start windows and see what it does, if it shows a new hardware is found your good, after this install the drives again. when finished with this one update it so you don't have any further problems.

try updating the driver of your sound card and hopefully that is the problem, go to www.driveragent.com to scan your computer for an updated driver. If your sound card driver is updated and you still can't hear any sound, maybe it is the hardware speaker that burned out or the sound card itself. expensive to repair.

Hi

Try this first remove battery and charger leave for about half hour.If still no luck check the drivers are installed

Go to System Manager- Device Manager and see if the audio drivers are there.

You could remove them and reinstall.

Good Luck

Next, I would re-install the sound card driver. Then be sure that the green cable is connected to the green port on the rear panel. Also, check to be sure that the volume is not muted for the rear speakers.

well the first thing i would do is reseat your sound card if its not integrated in the m/b. Since you said you moved it.
