How Do I Change My Desktop Theme/Appearane On Vista?
2009-04-26 21:31:19 UTC
I have tried downloading themes, but the themes I download are not recognised by my computer...how do I fix this problem, and also, does anyone know where I can find some good themes?
Thanks!
In order to get a third party theme you need to download Vista Glazz. This program patches your system so your can use third party themes. Then you get the theme files and put it in your theme folder. Your system folder will be under Links, music , favorites, contacts, desktop, saved games, etc...
Patching your system can cause your system to not start up.
For the icons you will need icon packager.
For the taskbar you will need Rocket dock.
You can get themes on deviantart.com. Make sure you look at vista styles. This is my style currently- http://steel89.deviantart.com/art/SteelF...

Did you make sure they are compatible with vista? Did you save them to the right folder? Right click the desktop and then click personalize. Then click theme. Then click where it says current theme or my theme or windows vista or something else, I think you can figure it out. Then click on browse. Then browse for wherever you saved the theme.
