I try to run some programs but this .dll problem pops up it says the program name then it says "bad image" on the top of the pop up.
It says "C:\Windows\System32\TAPI32.dll is either not designed to run on windows or contains an error"
then it tells me to redownload it or contact my administrator
It also pops up when it's loading to my start up screen before I put my password to log into the account
What should I do and how?

Run the repair disk if you have it, or in XP, click Start>Run type

sfc /scannow

( note the space between sfc and /scannow, you may need your Windows CD/DVD)

and hit Enter/Return.

Vista

Click the Start button and type the same command into the search bar, and hit Enter/Return.

Or, download it from here...

Dll files do form time to time get corrupted or lost. Some programs when installed installs a old version of the dll.

Download the DLL file and put it into your System32 folder. Overwrite the current one.

If this does not work you may need to register the in Windows. Go to the start menu and then on 'Run'. if there is no Run option press Windows Key + R. You will need admin rights.

Then type the following:

regsvr32 \windows\system32\TAPI32.dll

Not sure what the command is for Vista/7 but may be the same.

Sounds like a corrupt windows file is causing you a lot of grief, you will most likely have to reinstall after you save all your data to fix it
