Question:
Can I build a custom PC?

I really want to build a custom computer for myself, but I'm not sure if I will be able to do it. I want to use good components, so they will cost a lot, and I want to be sure that I won't screw up... I'm pretty much a newbie to this kind of stuff (the most complicated thing I've done on a PC until now is cracking a wifi password on a virtual machine Linux)... Do you think that I can somehow succeed or is it impossible for a newbie like me to do something like this?
BTW I don't think my age matters much, but if you want to know, I'm 13.
Oh, and I don't live in the USA (in Bulgaria instead) so suggesting stores and stuff that are in the USA won't help. Sorry

It's not terribly difficult. Helps if you've done it before or have a book on the topic.

Main thing is to make sure all the components are compatible. Once you've picked them out you can post another question to make sure that are compatible.

Anti-static wrist straps, and a does of patience are highly reccomended. When assembling, take your time, go slow, and don't force anything. Stop and ask a question if you run into issues.

Im 13 aswell. What I did was got the new components and such ready to go. Took apart my old one, one piece at a time. Then put it back together as good as I remembered. At the same time I built the new one. The absolout most important thing is before you touch your motherboard, ram , or any bare piece( not covered in metal) to touch any bare metal to make sure you dont fry your motherboard.

It's actually kinda easy, your motherboard and case and stuff will all have manuals on mounting parts and stuff. The first computer I built I just followed the manuals. And I found a bulgarian parts store (I think) but I don't speak Bulgarian. But essentially there are a few main parts. Processor, motherboard, graphics card, RAM, Hard Drive, Case, and Power Supply. And if you have all those then you are good to go.

Get you components ready, go to YouTube and watch a tutorial on how to build a PC.

The majority of it is fairly simply, but if the reason you want to build your own PC ISN'T for a challenge, then I would just use a website like http://www.ibuypower.com/
