Well, to start off, This computer here at work has a dual core processor, had 2 gb's of ram, and a onboard graphics card with 384mb.
Ive used 3ds max on this computer and ive gotten like 500 error memory codes that i was out of memory, very weird that my laptop i bought can handle the program better, anyway, i went and put 8GB's of ram into this machine with vista jsut to see if it helped, it didnt, i still got error codes. Another engineer in the office next to me has the same computer, on his computer the program runs smoothly. Now today, i got my first error while just opening internet explorer. Memory error at line: 7. Ive tried everything, i know about computers, but is the actual ram slot on the motherboard messed up somehow? should i reload windows? Any help would be great!

Try removing your original 2gb of RAM, and then insert 4gb of the new RAM. This will tell you if the old RAM was causing the errors.

If the problem persists, then it could possibly be faulty RAM slots as you mentioned.

It could also be a software related problem. If your laptop has a recovery partition, use it to quickly reset it to a fresh Windows state ("factory default"). Or just reinstall Windows yourself if you know how to do it properly. Just make sure you backup your important files first if you try this.

8 GB of RAM will not work if you have a Vista of 32 bits. Try to get Vista of 64 bits and you memory will be utilized fully.

And anyways Vista is a crap OS. You will get loads of bugs without any perfect solution to it..

An blunders that occurs for the time of the execution of a application. Runtime blunders point out bugs contained in this technique or issues that the designers had estimated yet ought to do no longer something approximately. to illustrate, understanding of memory will in many cases reason a runtime blunders. you may in many cases recuperate gracefully from a runtime blunders.
